Nestled in the heart of the historic district of South Norwalk, Connecticut, Bacchus, named for the mythological Roman God of wine, is a self-styled Italian restaurant with an Innovative twist. Our mission is to honor the traditions of the Italian kitchen by bringing back the classic bases of Italian cooking while adding a touch of new world flavors.
The room is casual elegance, defined with enormous front windows and a glass enclosed entryway. A sleek, polished granite bar, marbleized in earthy beige tones, and dark wood furniture, give the restaurant a warm and inviting feeling. The one hundred year-old exposed brick wall that flows seamlessly into a hand-painted, almost three dimensional mural of an old world wine cellar brings you into the caves of Tuscany. The fresh, modern kitchen is glass-encased for customers dining at the back of the restaurant to enjoy seeing food being prepared with the finest ingredients. Amber light fixtures offer a warm glow throughout the dining room and bar. All the details have been considered, with small touches like copper menu covers, amber lighting and burgundy tablecloths with black napkins.
